Recently i got the Gucci Lustrous Foundations in the shade 170 & 180 for 57 euros which is 65$ for each. Everyone on YouTube was asking me to do a review on this foundations i listened and did. The direct video will be below this blog post click on the link and watch it is free.
Here are the claims of the foundation: The lustrous glow foundation is expertly crafted to create the signature Gucci finish- a radiant complexion with a soft glow. Each drop of the formula contains a precise ration of luminous oil, powders and polymers. The versatile, lightweight texture is designed to spread smoothly across the skin's surface for even build-able coverage. All of this claims are true after testing out the foundation on my combination skin.
I am wearing a mixture of two different shades: 170 & 180 because when i did the swatches on my face i could not see the difference between the two shade hence i mixed both. It contains 30ml/1fl.oz of product and while applying this on my face it felt very light weight, melted on to my skin and blended out flawlessly with a flat Kabuki foundation brush which is a plus for me because i do not like a heavy caked face i love my skin to breathe. This pictures i took with my phone and a flash to see what it will look like without my DSLR Canon camera, it is absolutely beautiful and natural looking. With every foundation there are pro's and con's, here are my final thoughts .
Pro's :
* It has SPF 25 which we all need and even thought i used this foundations with a moisturiser of SPF 50 it did not give me a white cast finish but photographed beautifully for a more natural look.
* The Gucci Lustrous foundation is very light weight on the skin.
* The foundation blends out flawlessly.
* The undertone is golden not too red, yellow or grey just prefect for women of colour.
* it is a build-able coverage foundation.
* It gives a light to medium coverage.
* It comes a plump.
* It feels very luxurious.
* It gives the skin a radiant natural glow from within.
* This foundation i would recommend for combination, normal and dry skin texture.
Con's
* The price point of 65$: I know this is a luxury product but not everyone can afford to spend that amount of money on a bottle of foundation.
* This is not a full coverage foundation.
* It is not oily skin friendly.
* The foundation might not work well with people that have problem or uneven skin.
* It does not have a thick consistency.
* It is not beauty blender friendly as it will soak up product, i recommend using a brush instead.
* I am not sure if they have a largest range of complexion product for every one as well as a large shade range for women of colour.
This particular Gucci complexion formulas is amazing even though it does not have a thick consistency. There are other types of Gucci foundation like the satin matte finish with SPF 20 which i personally would recommend for oily skin. Always remember that a good skin prep is the key to flawless foundation application.
